Santiago Giraldo



The following text is about the life of one of the best athletes for me, attending to the 2012 Olimpics Games in London. In this opportunity is this city incharged to welcome the most out-standing athletes of the world.
Here, I want to focus in one participant in particular. His name is Santiago Giraldo. He was born on 27th of November of the 1987. He is from Pereira,Colombia. His parents are Eduardo Giraldo and Elsa Salaza and he comes from a nice family. He studied at
La Fontan in Medellín.
Bein said thar, let’s take a look about his sport life.
It is the first Colombian male tennis player in the last 30 years beyond the site 50 of the world.
Giraldo is known for consistently taking huge cuts at the ball, flattening out every forehand and backhand possible when he is able to get a firm grip on the ball. However, such a style of play evidently generates a higher chance of unforced errors.

It was the best player U-14 years and Under-16 years of South America in 2001 and 2003, respectively.

In 2001 he finished as the third best player in South America in this category, after reaching the quarterfinals of tournament Cosat Tour of Venezuela and Uruguay, was second in the tournament in Colombia, the tournament champion in Ecuador and was a member, thanks to these achievements, the South American selection who participated in the European Tennis Tour. In that toured Europe got advances to quarterfinals in the tournament in France, Germany and Belgium.

Along with Robert Farah, member of the first selection in the category Men Colombia 14 years in the history of our country, got room for a World Championship, after falling to third place in the South American Championship held in Colombia in 2001.
Also is part of the most important group of players that arises after the generation of Alejandro Falla and Carlos Salamanca, who were champions of the doubles tournament at Roland Garros Junior.


To onclude this written, It is necesary for me yo say that Santiago Giraldo is an athlete who has proved that no matter the conditions. it is posible to success in life, so, He is for me, a very important and intresting role model. I hope, he win the gold in london
